Wimbledon Racquet Club is now offering its annual Summer Tennis Camp under the direction of Drew Mascarin. Since 1974 Wimbledon has achieved an excellent reputation as the training ground for many fine players. Professional Tour players such as Susie Mascarin, Aaron Krickstein and Carrie Cunningham have come out of this program.

It has been a tradition at Wimbledon to offer the best in tennis instruction in an atmosphere that makes the experience a pleasant one for the beginner, the intermediate and the more advanced player. It is also a unique opportunity to receive instruction from some of the best professionals in Michigan.

The program will take place on Wimbledon's four outdoor courts and indoor courts when necessary. Players from ages 4 through high school are invited to experience this unique camp. Come and join us! This is the perfect way to get excellent tennis instruction at a reasonable rate.

JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT
January 2 through March 31, 2012

Quickstart Tennis is a whole new way of teaching children tennis. It is a much more dynamic and interactive approach utilizing different equipment, court sizes and teaching techniques. It enables children to "learner, rally, play and compete right from the start." Children will experience immediate success, making the game much more fun, and inspiring love for the game right from the start.

This new approach also entails courts and racquets scaled to an age appropriate size so that they are able to rally and cover the court with great success. All of the drills are designed to be interactive, cooperative, and all around FUN. The students are constantly moving, hitting, and throwing with virtually zero downtime.

LEVEL I
Friday 4-5 p.m. or Saturday 10-11 a.m.

PLAYERS MAY ATTEND INDIVIDUAL ONE HOUR SESSIONS
Pre-Payment Entire Fall 13 weeks - $185.00 (20% Discount)
Cost per visit - $18.00

This is the primary level of our program designed for young players and beginners to the fame. Children will work on movement and balance, and handling a junior racquet, as well as basic stroke shapes. Students will build rally over a short distance with a partner. At this level there is an emphasis on fun games and activities that develop coordination using red foam and red felt balls.

LEVEL II
Tuesday & Thursday 4:30 - 6:00 p.m.

PLAYERS MAY ATTEND INDIVIDUAL 1 1/2 HOUR SESSIONS

26 classes - $470.00 (40% Discount ($18.00))

In this secondary level, players will develop more racquet control, better movement and balance, longer stroke shapes and consistent contact points. Students will learn to coordinate the use of their arms on serve using a small action Successfully rallying from the baseline of a 36' court is a key objective. Fun and friendly competition is emphasizes through a variety of rally games. Players will start the transition from a 36 foot court to a 60 foot court.

LEVEL III
Wednesday 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Players in this level will be making the transition from the 36' court while learning to move quickly and efficiently with good balance. Students will also develop effective swing shapes including the use of spin, in addition to serving with a consistent action and higher contact point. There is an emphasis on rallying from the 60' baseline and competitive drills. Learning the rules of the game and score keeping is a primary focus at this level. They will also transition from the orange felt balls to the green dot balls.

TOURNAMENT PLAYERS CAMP--TPC
Admission only by approval of Joe Saheen or Drew Mascarin

Tuesday or Thursday 4 - 6 p.m. or Saturday 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. - This program is designed for students in junior high, high school tennis and tournament competitions. Our staff will concentrate on combining high intensity drills along with emphasis on match play and strategy that is invaluable to players in high school tennis and in tournament play.
